Spring Jazz Lessons in Bellevue, WA
Does your child or teen want to learn more about “all that jazz”? Jazz dancing has roots in African American and Caribbean dancing styles. Jazz dancing incorporates ballet technique with jazz movements. It embraces improvisation and promotes a conversational performance style.
The jazz dance classes at Crescendo Dance Academy in Bellevue, WA help young dancers learn jazz movement and technique. They also help dancers gain confidence in sharing their talents with others.
What Do Dancers Learn in Our Jazz Dance Classes?
In our classes, dancers learn jazz dance technique by performing basic exercises and choreography. As they progress through the different levels, they master increasingly difficult steps and routines.
Class curriculum includes:
- A warm-up
- Isolations (moving one part of the body)
- Across-the-floor progressions (performing a dance move repetitively across the entire dance floor)
- Combinations (dancing a pattern of several different steps)
As they improve in jazz dancing ability, dancers master performance techniques such as emotional expression.
